From robot dogs to bartender bots, an array of robots upgraded with the latest technological advancements are currently on display at the week-long World Robot Expo (WRE) in Beijing.

The exhibition showcases robots in various iterations, even featuring a so-called cyberdog, a robotic canine capable of performing spins and other tricks like a real dog, and delighting in being tickled under the chin by its owner.

“It’s designed to serve as a companion for light outdoor activities. In the future, it could assist in providing better elderly care services. We aim to make it more family-friendly,” stated Xiang Dijun, Deputy CEO of Xiaomi’s Robotics Division.

Another eye-catching exhibit is a flexible, fully automated robot bartender that has captivated attendees with its espresso-making prowess.

The expo also presents medical robots, intelligent machines for sewage management and firefighting.

High expectations surround humanoid robots earmarked for service-oriented tasks.

Liu Julong, Director at Dream Technology, stated that the next step is to train robots to become household assistants, helping people organize and store items.

Robots can also aid in fruit and vegetable picking. The event showcased a robot capable of harvesting cherry tomatoes every three to six seconds.
